Missing Elderly Virginia Woman Could Be In Serious Danger: Police (Update)

Police announced they have located Sherrie Ann Smith. She is safe.

Earlier, Virginia state police issued a statewide alert to find her because they believed she was in serious danger.

Smith, 68, left her home in Virginia Beach at 3 a.m. Thursday, May 26. She suffers cognitive impairments, which searchers feared posed a serious threat to her health and safety.

Police located her just before 1 p.m.
