Rakeen Caldwell, 24, of King George, is facing a felony charge for attempting to elude members of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office who were investigating reports of gunshots that rang out shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28 in the England Run Apartments on Elkton Drive.
According to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, a red sedan was was seen fleeing the scene, and when deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Enon Road, the driver, later identified as Caldwell, refused to stop and sped away, prompting a pursuit.
During the subsequent pursuit, investigators said that one person - who remains at large - bailed from the vehicle near Hulls Chapel Road, and Caldwell was ultimately stopped by a deputy using a rolling roadblock.
Inside the vehicle, investigators found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 29, the spokesperson said that they are still attempting to identify the man who bailed from the sedan.
Officials say that the suspect was described as being a Black man wearing an orange hat and puffy black coat. The other two victims were treated for their injuries. Caldwell is being held without bond, no other charges were announced, though the investigation is ongoing.
