An early morning crash involving a child walking to school led to a DUI charge for a Spotsylvania woman on Wednesday who was driving recklessly, according to the sheriff's office. Local resident Jane Jenkins was arrested for suspected driving under the influence after the 53-year-old struck a girl who was walking to her bus stop. A teen girl knew she was up to no good and broadcast it for the sheriff's office to hear after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into bushes off the side of the road in Stafford County, according to the sheriff's office. A Fourth of July shooting is under investigation in Stafford County after a man and several vehicles were struck by gunfire, according to the sheriff's office. Shortly after 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, deputies were called to a reported shooting on Anvil Road in Olde Forge to investigate reports of shots fired.
