Three wanted suspects are in custody and a deputy suffered minor injuries during a police pursuit on I-95 in Stafford County, according to a spokesperson from the sheriff's office. At approximately 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, deputies spotted a wanted person in a vehicle heading north on I-95, leading to the pursuit that took them onto Centreport Parkway. A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a driver near a busy intersection in Fairfax County on Saturday morning, police say. Officers were called before 5 a.m. on July 20 to the area of Leesburg Pike and Downey Drive in Great Falls, where a woman was hit by a car, which remained at the scene. The woman was evaluated and treated at the scene before first responders pronounced her dead. Following the crash, Leesburg Pike was shut down for hours in the area while detectives investigated. What started as an investigation into a reported stolen vehicle at the Fair Oaks Shopping Center ended when a suspect took over a police cruiser and quickly crashed in Fairfax County.
