Minutes into the second period on Sunday afternoon, Ovechkin took in a cross-ice pass in his favorite spot off the left wing, ending his chase with "The Great One" and bringing Capitals fans to their feet with his historic goal. First Responders Called To Ventilate Smoke Following Fire At Capital One Arena In Downtown DC
Things were heating up at Capital One Arena on Sunday morning, but it wasn't the soon-to-be departing Capitals or Wizards doing it on the floor. DC Fire and EMS personnel were called to the arena on Sunday morning when a small fire broke out inside the building. It was reported on the second floor, according to officials. Sprinklers inside the building were able to make quick work of the small fire, though there was smoke permeating throughout parts of the arena that crews had to ventilate upon their arrival. Monumental Sports And Entertainment Buys NBC Sports Washington
Monumental Sports and Entertainment recently bought its partner, NBC Sports Washington, according to WTOP. Almost five million households of sports fans can currently access NBC Sports Washington on 25 cable television providers in the DMV area, WTOP said. Before buying NBC Sports Washington, Monumental Sports and Entertainment already owned the Wizards, Capitals, Mystics and Capital One Arena, as well as 33% of NBC Sports Washington, the website said.
