A drunken Wawa customer's own clumsiness landed him behind bars over the weekend in Stafford, authorities said.
Xavien Washington caught the attention of people inside the Wawa store on Butler Road in Fredericksburg around 4:35 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, after dropping his firearm on the floor while stumbling around in the business, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said.
The 19-year-old Manassas man then tried buying tobacco without an ID, police said. When staff refused to sell him the product, he asked to buy drugs from them, Decatur said.

Two drivers have been arrested after leading police pursuits through Stafford over the weekend, police said.
The first began around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, and involved a Maryland man named Timothy Clark, 56, was wanted out of Stafford, Prince William, and Fredericksburg, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said in a release.
The incident involving Clark began when Deputy E.T. Osborn responded to Wawa, located at 9 South Gateway Drive, for a larceny. Staff said a man, later identified as Clark, stole a crate of Marlboro cigarettes.

Drunken Fredericksburg Man Terrorizes Stafford Deputies, Wawa, Hotel Staff: Sheriff
A man cursing and screaming at hotel and Wawa employees is behind bars, police in Stafford County said.
A man later identified as Michael Fauntleroy, 55, of Fredericksburg, brought police to the Excel Inn & Suites on Warrenton Road around 1:50 a.m. Jan. 18, for cursing and screaming at an employee, the county sheriff's office said.
Fauntleroy was removed from the property, and authorities hoped that was the end of that. It wasn't.
Ten minutes later, Fauntleroy went to the Wawa on South Gateway Drive and did the same, authorities said.

The vehicle of a Pennsylvania man missing since 2021 was found in Virginia, and evidence inside of it helped detectives link it to his suspected killer, authorities said.
Michael Allen Stark, 49, of Royersford, PA is believed to have kidnapped Matthew James Branning, after a shift at his Silverdale job in October 2021, took him to withdraw money at an ATM and then fled in Brannging's car to New Jersey, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said.

Wawa has announced the grand opening of their newest store, set to be located in Stafford, officials confirm.
On Friday, Dec. 9, the brand new Wawa store, located at 1172 Garrisonville Road, will open to the public, according to Wawa officials.
A grand opening celebration and outdoor ribbon cutting will begin at 9 a.m., with limited-edition, Wawa "Goose-Vibes Only" t-shirts for the first 100 customers who walk through the door.

Anthony Raposo, 39, of Fredericksburg, was behind the wheel of a car stopped at the Wawa on Garrisonville Road in Stafford when officers realized the vehicle had a fake temporary license plate around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, they said.
