What one man thought was a training pistol was actually a real, loaded handgun in an accident that left another man in serious condition. It happened at a business on the 160 block of Shenandoah Avenue in Timberville around 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, Virginia State Police said. Police did not specify the business. Police in Virginia have joined the search for a missing 3-year-old girl who may be in extreme danger after being taken from her father's home in New York. An alert was issued by Virginia State Police on Monday on behalf of the NYPD as they work to locate Kadence France, who was last seen at her father's home in Staten Island and is believed to be with 26-year-old Randalae Rhodes, possible in Virginia. A disorderly woman was fatally shot by police after hitting an officer in the head with his baton in the parking lot of a Virginia hotel over the weekend, authorities said. Stratsburg police responded to a 9-1-1 call for an erratic person damaging property at a hotel on Signal Knob Drive around 11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, Virginia State Police said. The Virginia State Police and Virginia Missing Children's Clearinghouse say that at around 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, Zuri Dorsey was possibly taken by Deandre Alante Dorsey in Virginia Beach, officials say. Police ID Pilot Killed In Fiery Virginia Plane Crash
Police have identified the pilot killed in a Fauquier County plane crash over the weekend. Simmie A. Adams, 62, of Bealeton, was trying to land a single-engine plane when the plane collided with several trees around 3:55 p.m. near Midland Road and Ebenezer Church Road, Virginia State Police said. The plane caught fire and Adams, the only occupant, died at the scene of the crash. No one on the ground was injured as a result of the crash. The FAA and NTSB were notified of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

'Wild Go-Getter:' 25-Year-Old Killed In Fauquier County Crash
Virginia State Police have identified the victim of a Fauquier County crash this week as a 25-year-old man. Chandler P. Povlsen, of Bealeton, was was heading south on Balls Mill Road near Rockdale Lane in Midland, in a 1994 Ford Ranger, when he crossed over the double solid yellow centerline around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, VSP said. Police in Loudoun County are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed a serious pedestrian crash Thanksgiving weekend. A man was struck by a vehicle around 530 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 near the Leesburg Public Safety Center, local police said. The pedestrian was crossing Plaza Street NE in a westbound direction in a marked crosswalk, police said. The driver remained on-scene and is cooperating with police.
