For days, Fayra Bonilla Rubi's family was stricken with worry.
The 26-year-old's loved ones said that "despite all kinds of problems," she remained good spirited.
But in the late afternoon on Friday, June 14, Bonilla-Rubi was found dead in the 7600 block of Highland Street in Springfield, as previously reported by Daily Voice.

After more than a decade on the run, a 27-year-old man wanted for sexual assault out of Fairfax County was captured in El Salvador, police announced.
David Ernesto Cuevas Maldonado, of Springfield, fled to El Salvador after sexually assaulting his victim, a stranger, at a home on Commerce Street in Springfield on Oct. 21, 2013, county police announced on Friday, May 24.

Warrants have been issued for a pair from New Jersey and New York who police said targeted a victim who withdrew a large amount of cash at a Virginia bank.
Pedro Bernal Montoya, 43, of New Jersey, and Antonio Ramos Acevedo, 33, of New York, watched as the victim took out $10,000 from a Springfield, VA bank on March 21, at 3:13 p.m., Fairfax County police said. Police did not say where in NJ or NY the men were from.

A pair of Florida pals were arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins at numerous Fairfax County parks, police said.
David Daniel Moraga-Nunez, 43 and Jonny Marcelo Sandoval-Barraza, 38, broke into countless vehicles between May 2022 and March 2024, stealing and using credit cards at various stores, county police said.
Nunez and Barraza were identified as suspects using surveillance footage, license plate reader technology, and a review of credit card transactions. Police say they broke into cars at Hemlock Park, Fountain Head Park, and Burke Lake Park.
