New Forecast: Increased Snowfall Totals Expected, Arctic Temps To Follow Northeast Storm
Newly-released forecast maps show parts of the region could see up to six inches of snow in the end-of-week storm.
Intermittent snow is expected to begin between 4 and 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, with the heaviest amounts falling in the afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
Snow will fall at about 0.5 inches per hour and will taper by the evening, with temps in the upper 20s and low 30s, the NWS said.

A beloved grandmother, Douangpee Amnatkeo, 54, of Shippensburg, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox with her relatives Ericssan Kathpratoum, 13, Samiane Kothpratoum, 37, both of Shippensburg; and Monthy Matnopaseuth, 39, of Reading, in the passenger seats, while towing a U-Haul trailer back from the annual Lao New Year Festival at Wat Lao Buddharam in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, authorities said.

37-Year-Old Reading Dad Killed In Crash On I-81 During Snowy Conditions
A 37-year-old dad died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash during the snowfall on Tuesday, Nov. 15, authorities say.
Santos Diaz-Colon, was involved in the crash on Interstate 81 near mile marker 89.5 in Union Township around 6:15 p.m., the Pennsylvania state police at Jonestown, announced early the next morning.
