A pair of minors were busted in Arlington County after being caught breaking into closed businesses overnight, police say. An officer on patrol shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 found a shattered glass door and two suspects inside a business in the 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard, leading to a pair of foot chases that ended with both in custody. A pair wanted in connection to a string of robberies at area churches and businesses in Herndon have been apprehended, police announced on Wednesday. Erik Zelaya Franco, 19, no fixed address, and Christian Castellanos Lopez, 23, of Reston, were identified and arrested following an investigation into multiple burglaries in recent weeks. A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of Fairfax County burglaries, police said. Timothy Mears, of Woodlawn, burglarized multiple laundromats between December 2023 and January 2024, and was identified as a suspect on Feb. 8, county police said. Homeless Man Found In Vehicle He Tried Stealing In Arlington: Police
A 30-year-old homeless man didn't get very far after breaking into and trying to steal a vehicle in Arlington this week, police said. Derrick Smallwood and another suspect were trying to break into a parked vehicle on the 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard around 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17 when police arrived, county authorities said. A serial shoplifter went back to the well one too many times and is behind bars in Fairfax County, authorities announced.
