Tropical System Expected To Become Hurricane Heads Toward Virginia: Here's Projected Path A new tropical system has just been identified that has the potential to become a hurricane with its projected path taking it up the East Coast. And Virginia could get hit, according to the National Weather Service NOAA National Hurricane Center (see image above). Tropical Depression 10 formed late Saturday afternoon, Aug. 26, according to the National Hurricane Center.
