A change in the weather is bringing warmer weather and rain to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, closing out a dry week with mild temps, forecasters are saying. Forecasters are touting a massive storm expected to drop several inches of snow on the East Coast this weekend. But some weather maps show parts of the Northeast will get only rain, and no snow at all, noting a another impactful storm could be coming mid-week next week, AccuWeather reports. Storm System Heads Toward Region: Another Rainy Weekend Ahead
Seems as though we can't go a single weekend without rain in the Northeast this fall. Another developing storm system is expected to arrive this Saturday, Oct. 14, according to the National Weather Service. "Several days of quiet weather are expected before a storm system arrives unfortunately in time for the weekend," the NWS' Mount Holly office said. Severe Weather Threat: Strong Storms Could Bring 60 MPH Winds, Hail, Isolated Tornadoes
An approaching cold front will ignite a round of thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. The time frame for scattered storm activity moving from the west to the east on Saturday, Aug. 12 is from about the middle of the afternoon through the evening when the chance will increase.
