Some lucky Virginia Lottery players rang in the new year with a bang, and are the state's newest millionaires.
Each year, winning numbers are drawn in Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle with five tickets worth a seven-figure prize, and an additional seven worth $100,000.

Alcohol May Be Factor In Triple Fatal I-95 Crash, Maryland State Police Say
Three people were killed in a Cecil County crash over the weekend when a driver lost control of a vehicle, leading to a violent crash, Maryland State Police say.
New York resident Savitri Pokhan, 43, Renaldo Smith, 28, and Michael Zazim, 20, both of Henrico, Virginia, were all identified as the victims following a single-vehicle crash in Elkton on Saturday, March 4.
Over the weekend, troopers from the JFK Memorial Highway Barrack responded to a reported single-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of I-95 near the Maryland Route 316 overpass, officials said.

Body Of Boater Found, Friend Remains Missing After Going Over James River Dam
The body of one of two women who went missing on Memorial Day after going over Bosher’s Dam on the James River Dam in Richmond has been found, WSET reports. Her friend, however, remains missing.
The body of Lauren Winstead, 23, was found by the Richmond Fire Department about five miles downstream of the damn around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, the outlet reports.
An autopsy will be done to determine Winstead's official cause of death. Meanwhile, crews are still searching for 28-year-old Sarah Erway.
