A District man who "shot multiple times in quick succession in (an) early morning attack" on Valentine's Day four years ago has been convicted of murder and assault with the intent to kill, federal authorities announced. Matthew Walker, 25, was found guilty of a host of charges following a trial for the February 2019 shooting of two men, one of whom was shot dead and another who died three years after the shooting. Almost Got Away: US Capitol Police Bust Runaway Suspect Who Hid For Hours Inside Apartment
Two people are in custody after being suspected of having a gun inside a stolen car, police say. A US Capitol Police officer spotted a reportedly stolen sedan near E Street and New Jersey Avenue around 11 a.m., Thursday, March 2, and approached the vehicle. Two people then ran from the car as they neared, with one being immediately apprehended by officers, investigators said. A man is facing criminal charges after authorities say he was linked to social media threats that targeted the University of Virginia, just one day after the mass shooting on campus that left three students dead and two others wounded. Teen Brings Loaded Gun To Dumfries High School: Police
A 15-year-old student was arrested on Thursday, May 19, for bringing a loaded gun and two knives to a Dumfries high school. Administrators at Potomac Senior High School called Prince William County police after the student showed a gun to a classmate in one of the bathrooms, an incident report said. The student told the resource officer that he was using the restroom when someone showed him the weapon under the stall.
