A couple accused of stealing more than $158,000 from retails stores across the DMV and North Carolina has been arrested.
Roxana Dumitru, 29, and Ionut-Robert Ionescu, 30, both of Laurel, MD, are accused of stealing approximately $6,400 worth of merchandise from the Ulta store on Village Market Boulevard in Leesburg Friday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2023, Leesburg police said.

A 20-year-old Washington DC man arrested for kidnapping last week was in custody after carjacking a juvenile and then crashing the car in Virginia, police said.
At 4:32 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, an officer got a call from loss prevention about a suspect, Mecca Lee-Bey, who was seen stealing more than $2,500 worth of merchandise, Fairfax County police said.
Upon approach, Lee-Bey fled the business and entered a nearby parking lot. Detectives from the Tysons Urban Team were asked for assistance. Lee-Bey attempted to open the door of a 2013 Kia Optima entering the garage.

One person was arrested and another remains at large in a Prince William County burglary, police said.
Jonathan Larry Ellington, 50, of Manassas, was arrested in connection with an Oct. 3 incident at a smoke shop, county police said.
Ellington was accompanied by an unidentified man in burglarizing Tobacco King on Old Bridge Road, police said. Together, they took merchandise and left the area in a silver Chevrolet Impala. Multiple glass smoking devices, numerous vapes, and several tobacco products were reported missing.

Three New York residents arrested and charged with running an organized theft ring and stealing more $15,000 in merchandise from retailers at the Tysons Corner Center in Fairfax County, authorities said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, the Tysons Urban Team responded to the Tysons Corner Center after an employee at Sunglass Hut reported a theft, police said. Officers were able to locate three suspects and recovered the stolen merchandise, which included items from H&M, Macy's, Nordstrom, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, Express and Guess, Fairfax County police said.
