DC Firefighter Killed In Early Morning Maryland Shooting: Officials
Officials have confirmed that a veteran DC firefighter and father was killed in an early morning shooting in Charles County. Members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office were called shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Monday, May 8, to Sedgemore Place in Bryan’s Road, where they found an eight-year veteran of the DC Fire Department suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Firefighter/EMT Carl Braxton, 30, was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries following the shooting, where he was later pronounced dead from the gunshot wounds, according to officials. On-Duty Firefighter At Crash Struck Dead By Teen Driver In Pennsylvania
A 66-year-old firefighter was struck dead by a car driven by a teenager while on duty in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Dec. 6, authorities say. Kurt Keilhofer was on the scene of a separate crash as a first responder with the Mapleton Fire Department when he was hit by the 19-year-old's vehicle in the area of Hares Valley Road and Dell Lane in Union Township, around 7:30 a.m., according to Pennsylvania state police. D.C. Fire Department Announces Death of Firefighter With 19 Years Of Service
The D.C. fire department announced this week that a 19-year veteran of the department has died. Firefighter Dejuan Woodland passed away from a medical issue on Wednesday, June 29, a department spokesperson said. Woodland joined D.C. Fire and EMS in 2003 and was stationed on Truck 2 during his entire tenure, a tweet announcing his death said.
