A 23-year-old Fredericksburg driver was being held without bond after leading a police pursuit at more than twice the speed limit through Stafford, authorities said. Jhonattan Varela Rangel was spotted going faster than the traffic around his Dodge Charger around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, south on Warrenton Road near Olde Forge Drive, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said. Speeding Driver Turns Ticket Into Felony Arrest In Stafford County, Sheriff Says
A speeding suspect took members of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for a wild ride on Monday morning as he attempted to evade arrest, officials said. Deputies from the sheriff’s office attempted to stop Colonial Beach resident Joseph Harris, 22, shortly before 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 on Cool Springs Road, when he was clocked doing 70 mph in a 45 mph. Police say that Harris stopped at a red traffic signal on White Oak Road, at which point the shenanigans began. Chase In Stafford Ends After Driver Crashes Into Stopped Truck: Police
A driver trying to escape a ticket wound up in a lot more trouble after he crashed his car while trying to get away from police, authorities said. Deputies clocked Jefferson Melendez Duran, 19, of Sterling at 20 miles per hour above the posted 45 mph along Cool Springs Road in south Stafford on Sunday night, but when they went to pull him over, Melendez Duran picked up the pace, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
