Three Teens Apprehended After Violent Armed Carjacking, Police Pursuit, Crash In Maryland
Three teens were taken into custody after an armed carjacking in Maryland that saw them take police on a pursuit before crashing earlier this week, officials said.
Zyier Brown, 18, Jayla Newman, 18, both of Washington DC, and a 16-year-old from Upper Marlboro are all facing charges for their roles in a carjacking in Gaithersburg, the Montgomery County Department of Police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
The incident began shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 in the 7800 block of Guildberry Court, when the department received a report of a carjacking.

DC Man Sentenced For Role In Night Of Violence Across Maryland, Virginia
A Washington, DC man will spend more than a decade in prison for his role in a day of terror that involved a violent armed robbery and two armed carjackings in Maryland and Virginia, federal officials announced.
Rashaun Onley, 23, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, on federal charges of committing an armed commercial robbery, carjacking, and using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
The violence began in the early morning of Feb. 5, 2021.

Multiple Students Arrested After Bringing Guns To Maryland High School
Two teenagers were arrested on the same day after bringing guns to Suitland High School, authorities say.
Police first arrived at the high school to serve an arrest warrant for a 16-year-old boy who had been wanted for a District Heights carjacking in late June, officials said. A school resource officer located the student around 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29, and found a gun in the teen's waistband, according to Prince George's County police.

Capitol Police Bust Wanted Teen Serial Carjackers For Stolen Mercedes In DC
Two men were arrested in D.C. after a series of carjackings, police said.
Mekhi Staton, 19, and George Turrentine, 18 were spotted at around 5 p.m. on August 2, driving on Independence Avenue in a stolen Mercedes C-Class, and officers believed they were armed, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.
As officers chased the Mercedes, the suspects ran through two stop signs and red lights, went the wrong way down a one-way street, and eventually crashed into parked cars nearby, officials reported.
