In August, an investigation was launched into a reported sexual assault involving 47-year-old Sayed Cheshty, who allegedly got handsy with a female customer.

Police say that shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, officers were called to the 12000 block of Strong Court in Fair Lakes to probe the reported incident.

The witness told investigators that she was sexually assaulted by a driver while inside a rideshare vehicle, though she was able to flee and call the police.

Before officers arrived, the driver fled from the area.

During the investigation, Cheshty was identified as a suspect. He was arrested over the weekend and charged with object sexual penetration.

The Fairfax resident is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
