35-Gallon Stockpile Of Gasoline Used In Igniting Deadly Arlington Home Explosion, Probe Finds
Police have released their findings into the Dec. 3, 2023 home explosion set by a 56-year-old suspect in Arlington.
Officers were called to James Yoo's home, a duplex on N. Burlington Street, after Yoo fired multiple rounds from a flare gun out of his window, police said.
Yoo barricaded himself inside, prompting a 3-hour and 40-minute standoff that ended in a home explosion, that authorities are now saying was caused by Yoo.
Investigators determined that Yoo had stockpiled more than 35 gallons of gasoline at his home, federal and local police said on Friday, June 7, 2024.

An 18-year-old Arlington man has been arrested for trying to rob a business he'd been banned from, authorities said.
Daryl Palmer broke into a business he'd been banned from on the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive around 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, the sheriff's office said.
He went behind the counter, at which point an employee called police, the office said. Palmer walked toward the exit, pulled out an axe hidden in a backpack, struck a display case and fled on food, police said.

Man Assaults Officer Telling Him To Back Off Of Security Guard In Arlington, Cops Say
A Maryland man has been arrested in Virginia after assaulting and seriously injuring an officer overnight, police said.
The officer was conducting parking enforcement on the 2900 block of Columbia Pike in Arlington when he saw 29-year-old Otis Brown, of Waldorf, MD, confronting security of a nearby business around 12:50 a.m. Sunday, May 26, county police said.

Three Bath & Body Works thieves have been arrested following a pursuit on I-66, authorities said.
Video shared by Dave Satter shows the end of the pursuit led by Tasha Easterling, 35, in which she, Michael Jones, 31, Shacota Brown, 28, were arrested just before 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23, who were identified by Fairfax County police.
