A 93-year-old passenger died at the hospital days after being involved in a now-fatal hit-and-run crash with a tractor-trailer in Loudoun County. Lovettsville resident Monica Lee has been identified as the passenger in a Chrysler who suffered critical injuries following a crash last week. Improperly disposed rags in a Loudoun County garage led to a large fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage when they spontaneously combusted, officials confirmed. On Sunday night, multiple agencies in Virginia and Maryland were called to a reported garage fire in the 13300 block of Downey Mill Road in Lovettsville, where there was a reported blaze that broke out. 16-Year-Old Driver Killed In Loudoun County Crash
A 16-year-old girl was killed in a weekend crash in Loudoun County, police said. Leilana Schwartz, of Lovettsville, was behind the wheel of a 1997 Honda Civic when she pulled into the path of a Volvo SUV heading west on Loudoun Street around 1:20 p.m. Saturday, June 1, Virginia State Police said. Schwartz was turning left onto East Loudoun Street when she was struck by the Volvo, police said. She was seriously injured and later died. The Volvo driver was not injured.
