A Fairfax man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and falling 40 feet off an entrance ramp along Interstate 66, according to Virginia State Police. The deadly crash occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, on the ramp from Route 28 south to the I-66 westbound express lanes. Investigators say Michael J. Monroe, 43, was riding on the ramp when he lost control of the motorcycle, which veered off the left side of the road and struck a jersey wall twice. All westbound lanes on I-66 in Northern Virginia were shut down on Monday afternoon for a tractor-trailer crash, according to the Department of Transportation. An alert was issued by the DOT when a tractor-trailer overturned and spilled debris into the roadway in Warren County, halting all traffic in the area of exit 6, officials said after the violent crash onto the roadway. New details have been released following a fiery fatal crash on I-66 in Virginia near The Beltway Interchange in Fairfax County on Friday morning.
