A heartbreaking accident in Chantilly left a 3-year-old dead after a low-speed collision with a pickup truck, according to the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD). The fatal crash was reported on Saturday, Nov. 16, at approximately 3:48 p.m. in the 14500 block of Trans World Avenue. Detectives from FCPD's Crash Reconstruction Unit determined that the child was riding a tricycle on a private driveway before crossing onto the roadway, where a 2012 Ford F-450 struck the child at a low rate of speed, police say. An elementary school staff member in Prince William County was charged for allegedly striking a 3-year-old boy on the head, police say. Centreville resident Sophie Mihyun Choi, 44, was is facing charges following an investigation into an assault by a school staffer at Ellis Elementary School on Kim Graham Lane in Manassas. Some school officials got a scare in Virginia this week when a 6-year-old student was caught with a loaded gun inside of his backpack, according to authorities. New details have been released by the Frederick County Sheriff's Office after two people were gunned down on Sunday morning in what is being described as a targeted attack.
