Shortly after 8:45 a.m. on Thursday morning, Virginia State Police attempted to stop a vehicle heading north on I-95 in Fairfax County, when the driver sped away, prompting a pursuit. The driver was reportedly the subject of an Amber Alert that was issued out of Virginia Beach late on Wednesday night. District resident Isaiah Warren Simpson, 33, has been identified as the suspect involved in a Friday afternoon shooting that ended with one man suffering from a gunshot wound in Rockville.
