New Yorkers Accused Of Stealing $20K Of Merchandise From Fairfax County Retailers: Police
A retail theft crew who took the trek from New York to Virginia to steal more than $20,000 in merchandise has been apprehended in Fairfax County, authorities announced.
Henry Rozo-Olarte, 50, Maria Garcia-Casallas, 55, and Angelica Velasquez Grajales, 42, all of New York, are facing a host of charges after being busted with thousands of dollars in stolen items by the department's Tysons Urban Team.
Earlier this week, detectives were called to the 8300 block of Leesburg Pike in Tysons to probe a reported robbery, where the three were found with an estimated $1,700 of stolen merchandise.…
Smile, You're On Body Camera: TJ Maxx To Equip Employees To Fight Shoplifting
To fight the recent rise in shoplifting and retail theft, shoppers could see store security employees wearing body-worn cameras to help catch thieves red-handed.
TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Serria, HomeSense, and HomeGoods, said will begin equipping some employees with body-worn cameras similar to those worn by police, the Boston Globe reported. The company started testing the initiative last year.
The company operates nearly 3,400 stores nationwide.
