They say cats have nine lives, but a dog in Virginia has at least two after being found in the rubble of the Haymarket home explosion nearly a week later. On Monday morning, Prince William Professional Firefighter crews were called to the site of the home explosion in the 5900 block of Colby Hunt Court, when there was a report of a dog barking from inside the remnants of the residence. Missing 17-Year-Old Cocker Spaniel Saved From Culvert Pipe In Spotsylvania
A missing 17-year-old Cocker Spaniel had to be saved from a perilous position by first responders in Spotsylvania after getting caught in a culvert pipe. On Tuesday afternoon, Spotsylvania Court Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management personnel were called to the 12000 block of Grantwood Drive, where there was a dog trapped inside the pipe one day after it was reported missing. The thunderstorms that rolled through Loudoun County and the rest of the DMV region left a family and relatives visiting Virginia displaced after a lightning strike in the area, officials say. Shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, first responders from multiple agencies in Virginia and Maryland responded to a home in the 15000 block of Shannondale Road in Hillsboro to investigate a reported structure fire. Dead Dogs, 24 Other Pets Found Living In Deplorable Conditions At Loudoun County Home
Several dead dogs were found, and two dozen other animals were living in deplorable conditions that threatened their lives at a Middleburg home, according to Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS). An investigation was launched last week when the agency received a complaint about a residence on Sam Fred Road, where Humane Law Enforcement Officers seized 24 cats and dogs who were in danger. Baby Alligator Confiscated From Home By Spotsy Sheriff's Office
A baby alligator is settling into its new home at the Luray Zoo after being confiscated from a local resident. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said the county's animal control division confiscated the young animal. "These creatures are not native to Virginia and personal ownership without proper licensing is illegal throughout the Commonwealth," the sheriff's office said.
