Intoxication may have been a factor for the pedestrian who was struck and killed by multiple vehicles while walking in Fairfax County over the weekend. Centreville resident Tracy Roane, 56, has been identified as the man who was killed in his hometown on Saturday night while walking near the intersection of Route 29 and White Post Road. A 58-year-old woman has been charged in connection to a fatal June crash that left a pedestrian dead in Fairfax County, police announced on Monday. Centreville resident Climencia Melgar was identified as the driver who struck Lubia Mirasol Vasquez Mateo while making a turn late last month, and she will now face charges. Facebook Marketplace Carjacker Arrested In Fairfax County, Cops Say
A 25-year-old Maryland man has been arrested in a Virginia carjacking, police said. Rodney Hart Jr., had expressed interest in buying a vehicle two victims had listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, and set up a meeting around 10:10 p.m. on June 5, on the 14600 block of Seasons Drive in Centreville, police in Fairfax County said. While Hart was inspecting the vehicle’s interior, he told the victims to get out, police said. The victims refused to exit the vehicle and a struggle ensued.
