An Arlington Community High School student is in custody after a loaded firearm with an extended magazine was found in his backpack, police said. The incident unfolded around noon on Monday, Dec. 2, when a school security guard at the school on the 4400 block of Fairfax Drive discovered the gun and suspected marijuana during a search. There may be an increased police presence outside of schools in Loudoun County when students arrived to class on Thursday morning due to possible threats spreading on social media.
