Two people - including an officer - were injured during a shooting in Reston on Monday morning, police say. The Fairfax County Police Department confirmed at around 11 a.m. that there was an officer-involved shooting in the 11800 block of Sunrise Valle Drive. Investigators say that one person was shot and rushed to the hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries. An officer also sustained less severe injuries and were hospitalized. A carjacking suspect in Arlington suffered serious injuries after being struck during an officer-involved shooting on Friday, police say. The Arlington County Police Department says that a Metro Transit officer was involved in a shooting following a series of carjackings in the Roslyn area. One Killed In Officer-Involved Spotsylvania Shooting, Sheriff Says
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office is investigating following an officer-involved shooting that left a 38-year-old man dead on Sunday morning. Shortly after 3:15 p.m. on June 30, deputies were called to the 10400 block of Spotswood Drive to investigate a reported domestic disturbance involving a weapon. Upon arrival, officials say that deputies were met by a man armed with a gun pointing it at a woman, prompting one of the investigators to fire his weapon, striking and killing the man.
