A Northern Virginia dog breeder was found guilty of 60 counts of animal cruelty following a years-long investigation, authorities announced. The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Irina Barrett's home in January 2020, after learning about the gross neglect of an eight-month-old doberman puppy, Attorney General Jason Miyares said. Police in Stafford have released some new details in a fight that sent a high school student to the hospital via helicopter. The incident Wednesday, Nov. 8 began around 9:25 a.m. in the gym of Stafford High School as two students were arguing about a previous incident, the sheriff's office said. A 31-year-old Stafford fugitive delayed his "inevitable arrest" when he barricaded himself in the basement of a home for 90 minutes over the weekend, authorities said.
