Driver Rescued From Pond In Fairfax County By Virginia State Police Troopers
Virginia State Police troopers had to make a bold rescue on Sunday night when a 40-year-old woman splash landed in a Fairfax County pond, officials say. Two troopers were called shortly before 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 20, to a stretch of eastbound lanes on I-66, when a woman went off the road and into a retention pond near exit 60 (Route 123). The vehicle became submerged, according to police, and the driver was trapped, leading to a brave rescue by the troopers, who were able to get her out of the vehicle through its sunroof. A multi-vehicle crash closed a ramp along the George Washington Memorial Parkway Thursday morning, Jan. 19. The ramp from Route 123 was closed on the southbound side as of 10:20 a.m. in between McLean and Arlington. Delays were expected.

Drivers in Washington, DC can expect prolonged delays as crews continue to work to remove hazardous trees from the George Washington Memorial Parkway. A seven-mile stretch of the George Washington Parkway was closed Monday, July 31 due to storm damage. Downed trees were strewn across the roadway, which was shut around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, and remained closed Monday. Here's How $161M GW Parkway Project Will Impact Traffic In DC Area
A $161 million construction project along the George Washington Parkway is under way, which means delays are to be expected in the DC area. The National Park Service announced a new traffic pattern that went into effect Saturday, April 22. It will last until 2025, when the project is expected to conclude.
