Police ID Woman Killed In Officer Involved Virginia Hotel Incident Police have identified the woman who was killed in a police-involved shooting over the weekend at a Virginia hotel. Melissa R. Tompkins, 40, of no fixed addressed, was fatally shot by police after hitting an officer in the head with his baton on Sunday night, Dec. 17, Virginia State Police said. Stratsburg police responded to a 9-1-1 call for an erratic person damaging property at a hotel on Signal Knob Drive around 11 p.m., police said. Missing Virginia Man Found Dead The search for Mateo Zevallos has come to a tragic end. The body of a man believed to be the missing 21-year-old George Mason University student was found in Shenandoah National Park on Sunday, May 21 around 12:15 p.m., according to Claire Comer, a spokeswoman for the park. Police did not say where in the park the body was found. The body is being transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Manassas for positive identification and determination of cause of death. Trails in the Overall Run area that were closed for search operations have been reopened.

Investigators were called at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, to investigate a crash that was reported in the I-495 Express Lanes at Exit 49 heading toward I-66.
