The pilot of a small plane that went down in Virginia on Thursday afternoon suffered injuries after being forced to make an emergency crash landing in a Fredericksburg field after a mechanical failure, officials say. Virginia State Police troopers were called to the 14500 bock of Spring Mill Road in Fredericsburg, where there was a reported crash involving a pilot of a single-engine Cessna plane that made an emergency landing, but not before taking out several trees. Plane Crashes, Overturns At Manassas Regional Airport
A plane crashed and overturned Sunday evening, April 14 at a Virginia airport. State police said that a single-engine Cessna ran off of a runway at the Manassas Regional Airport, struck a culvert and overturned at 8:15 p.m. Neither the pilot nor the one other passenger were injured. The FAA and NTSB have been notified. The investigation remains ongoing.

No injuries were reported after a private aircraft missed its landing and wound up off the runway at the Leesburg Executive Airport on Friday afternoon. Shortly before 5 p.m., Virginia State Police troopers were called to the airport, where a private aircraft coming in for a landing wound up coming to rest off the runway and in the grass off the tarmac, authorities say.
