Assault Being Probed By Police As Being Potentially Motivated By Hate/Bias: MPD The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault as a possible hate or bias-motivated crime after a 59-year-old man berated an employee at a Northwest DC business. George Sommers, who has no fixed address, was arrested over the weekend following an altercation with another man that rapidly escalated in the 3300 block of M Street NW, officials say.
