Trooper Struck, Launched Into Traffic By 24-Year-Old Reckless Driver In Fairfax County: VSP
A 24-year-old Prince William County woman is facing charges for hitting a Virginia State Police vehicle on Route 66 that in turn struck the trooper, launching him into the roadway, authorities said.
Khadija F. Sayyid, of Bristow, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Camaro when she struck the troop car that was in the shoulder of Route 66 near mile marker 50 around 4 p.m. in Fairfax County Monday, May 15, VSP said.
The trooper, who was walking back to his vehicle after a traffic stop for speeding, was struck by the vehicle on impact and launched into the right, eastbound lane of travel. …
