Deadly Pre-Dawn Crash Closes I-95 In Prince William County (Update) A fatal crash closed I-95 in Prince William County early Monday, April 8. It happened near milepost 151.1 on the northbound side between Dumfries and Triangle around 3:30 a.m., when a GMC pickup truck and Kia SUV collided, police said. The GMC overturned as a result of the crash, and a passenger was ejected. The passenger died at the scene. As of 5:50 a.m., the north left shoulder, left lane, center lane, and right lane were closed. Traffic backups were approximately 4 miles.  Virginia State Police were investigating.

The victim was a driver who had been standing outside of their disabled vehicle around 8:45 a.m. on the southbound side, Virginia State Police said. According to the VDOT, the crash happened in Triangle. Backups were approximately 10 miles long. The striking vehicle remained on scene while the victim was taken to Mary Washington Hospital, and later flown to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
