The former US Capitol Police officer who engaged in an illegal pursuit and attempted to cover it up has copped to the crime, federal authorities announced. Thomas Smith, 46, pleaded guilty this week to violating civil rights by "recklessly engaging in a dangerous pursuit and being deliberately indifferent to the danger he created." All Clear: Police, Feds Investigate New Bomb Threat At Howard University
Howard University in D.C. received another bomb threat on Friday, August 26, officials said. At around 2:30 a.m., the school community was alerted about the threat that targeted the East and West towers, according to the Howard University Department of Public Safety. This threat came to school after another recent threat was made directed at Cook Hall, a freshman dormitory, authorities said.
