Slain Transgender Woman's Killer Captured In DC, Authorities In St. Mary's County Say A 29-year-old Washington DC man has been arrested and charged in the killing of an 18-year-old transgender woman whose death caused outrage in Virginia — and beyond. Darryl Carlton Parks Jr. faces charges of first- and second-degree murder along with various weapons offenses in the Friday, March 24 killing of Tasiyah Woodland, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office announced.  Parks was apprehended in Washington DC on Tuesday, March 28.
