Attempted Bank Robber Sought In Prince William County
Police in Prince William County are seeking a man who tried robbing a bank Monday, March 4. The unidentified man approached the counter at United Bank on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge around 12:30 p.m. with one hand in a bag, county police said. Authorities said a firearm was seen in the bag, but the suspect fled the bank on foot without taking money. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. Creep Who Sought Sex From 'Child' Online In VA Then Fled To Egypt Sentenced: Officials
A Maryland man was sentenced to 75 years in prison after soliciting sex from someone he thought was a minor online in Virginia before fleeing to Egypt, authorities said. John R. Raff, 42, of Perryville, MD, was arrested in Maryland in 2014 and extradited to Virginia for an ongoing NOVA-DC ICAC Task Force investigation, the Virginia State Police said. Raff had attempted to solicit a Virginia State Police agent whom he believed was a minor, a spokesman for the VSP said. Hours-Long Manhunt For Chainsaw-Wielding Man Ends In Stafford
An hours-long manhunt for a chainsaw-wielding burglary suspect ended successfully Monday, March 4 in Stafford County, authorities said. Shawn Kimmitz of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said the man, who had tried breaking into a home on Musselman Road around 7 a.m., was captured at Rappahannock Landing in the mid-morning hours. The suspect, whose name was not released, also had a hammer and tried breaking into a car on another block nearby. Additional information is expected to be released.

Support is swelling for the family of a 19-year-old who was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Loudoun County apartment complex. A 29-year-old Baltimore man is facing charges after authorities say he stole more than $2,800 in merchandise from a Virginia sunglasses hut in 2023. Raquan L. Harkless allegedly went into the Fort Evans Road NE building in Leesburg on Sept. 11, 2023, and removed the items, then left, Leesburg police said.
