A woman reported to the Leesburg Police Department Emergency Communications Center that shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, she was shopping in the seasonal section of Target on 1200 Edwards Ferry Road NE when she was approached by a man holding a clipboard who allegedly groped her.
The man then left the store immediately and fled in a white, newer-model, Dodge Caravan, according to police.
Investigators say that the suspect is described as being approximately 30 years old, 5-foot-7, and weighing 140 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white dress shirt with white pants, a gray denim jacket, and black sneakers.
It was also reported to police that prior to the assault, the unknown suspect was seen walking around the store approaching customers with a clipboard and soliciting donations.
Officials made note that the suspect is believed to have committed similar offenses at other Target stores in the area, though investigators did not specify when or where.
The latest incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
