Stanley Salmeron, a Woodbridge resident who played for San Antonio FC, died suddenly on Thursday, Aug. 17.
A GoFundMe has been created to assist Salmeron's family with funeral expenses. As of Thursday, Aug. 24, more than $4,115 had been raised.

Air Force Hopeful, Virginia's Robert Martinez Inglis Dies, 17
Seventeen-year-old Roberto A. Martinez Inglis, of Falls Church, died on Saturday, Aug. 12.
A rising high school senior, Roberto hoped to join the Air Force, his obituary says.
"Roberto was a good teenager who constantly tried to impact the lives of those around him positively in his own unique way," his obit reads. "Well known in the football community, Roberto made sure that those closest to him were happy at all times."
A cause of death was not listed.

Alexandria resident Jessica "Jessy" Schroth died Tuesday, Aug. 8, after a recent illness, according to her obituary. She was 48 years old.
Born in Peru, Jessy earned her doctor of dental surgery in Brazil, before her MBA in healthcare from George Washington University in May 2022. At GWU, she was accepted into the golden Key Hnor Society, and then the Presidential Management Fellows Program at HUD, her obit says.

Falling Tree Kills Marine Corps Web Developer In Virginia
Support was surging for the family of a Virginia man killed by a falling tree this weekend.
Not only did the Lee family lose its home, they lost its patriarch.
Kenneth Allan Lee, Jr., a web developer for the U.S. Marine Corps, died on Sunday, July 30, when a tree fell on his Holly Hill Drive home amid a "tornado-like" storm, according to a GoFundMe for the family and county police.
Lee, 43, leaves behind his wife, Rachel, and daughters, Matilda and Amelia.
