At around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, Maryland State Police Aviation Command based out of Frederick came to the aid of four kayakers with an assist on the ground from Montgomery County swift water rescue personnel, officials say. Residents Escape Burning Home Through Second-Story Window In VA; Five Treated For Burns Some residents had to make a bold escape from a fiery home and five people were treated for burns following an early morning fire in Manassas. Crews from the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue Department were called to a house fire at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, where they were met by fire showing from the first and second floors of the building with multiple burn victims that had to escape from a second-story window.
