Single-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Busy Virginia Highway (Developing)

A busy highway in Virginia will be closed for hours after a driver crashed into and took down a utility pole in Fairfax County.

An alert was issued by the Fairfax County Police Department on Tuesday afternoon following a crash on Richmond Highway involving a single vehicle.

Police say that the highway will be closed between Holly Hill Road and Lockheed Boulevard in Hybla Valley as officers investigate the crash and the scene is cleared.

Crews were called in to make repairs, though motorists were cautioned that the roadway will be shut down for an extended period of time.
