Fredericksburg Marine, Army Vet Kenny Carr Jr. Dies, 38 Shock and sadness spread following the June 30, 2024 death of Kenneth "Kenny" Carr Jr., of Fredericksburg. He was 38 years old. According to his obituary on the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service website, Carr served in the Marine Corps for 8.5 years and then in the Army, having earned multiple awards and working as a martial arts instructor within the Marines. A father of two, Carr volunteered as a basketball coach in the area, at the military youth center and at the YMCA, his obituary continues.  Tributes on social media suggest Carr's death was unexpected.
