Two-Day House Fire Destroys Oradell Home In Freezing Temps A house fire that began Saturday, Feb. 7, and reignited early Sunday morning destroyed a one-family home in Bergen County, officials said. Fire Chief Terry Moran said the likely cause of the blaze, which broke out on the coldest day of the year at 43 Poplar Ave., in Oradell, was embers from a fireplace in the family room. The homeowner reported the fireplace was in use and that smoke was backing up into the house, Moran said.
