A 67-year-old Middlesex County man was identified as the worker who was killed when a rock ledge fell on Thursday, Aug. 22, and crushed an excavator at a Massachusetts quarry. Brian Curtis Derby, 67, of Townsend, died just before 8 a.m. when the rocks fell on his heavy machinery at the Sterling quarry along Stone Crest Way, the Worcester County District Attorney said. A 73-year-old Union City man was killed while on the job after he was struck by a vehicle on the morning of Monday, June 5, while working for the Department of Public Works, authorities said. An investigation is underway after a landscaping truck fatally struck a company employee in Fairfield County over the weekend. Police responded to the crash in Wilton at 77 Danbury Road (Route 7) at about 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, according to the Wilton Police Department. Worker Dies In Bayonne Industrial Accident
A worker died in an industrial accident over the weekend in Bayonne, authorities said. First responders found the man seriously injured at the eastern edge of the former Military Ocean Terminal at the Bayonne Dry Dock, around 9:10 a.m. Sunday, the City's emergency management office said. Medics from McCabe Ambulance and the Bayonne Fire Department performed CPR on the victim, who was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center. The unidentified worker later died of his injuries. A construction worker who fell to his death while working during the early morning hours on the SoNo Collection in Norwalk has been identified. Lorgio Jimenez-Suarez, 52, of Astoria, fell around 2:39 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the new shopping area located at 100 North Water Street, said Lt. Terry Blake with the Norwalk Police Department.
