Man Killed In Fatal Hit, Run Crash In Newark: Prosecutor A man was killed in a fatal hit and run crash in Newark on the early morning of Friday, May 31, authorities said. The crash occurred at 3 a.m. at  Wilson Avenue and Hensler Street, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is investigating the incident, authorities said.

At 8:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a vehicle was carjacked with the child left inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  At 10:30 a.m., police found the vehicle in Jersey City with the child inside and unharmed, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation.
