25-Year-Old From NY Killed In Route 284 Crash In Wantage Township: Njsp
A 25-year-old New York man was killed in a crash on Route 284 in Sussex County on the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 17, authorities said.
At 2:02 p.m., a Chevrolet passenger vehicle, driven by Andrew Slagle, an Orange County resident from Westtown, was traveling northbound on Route 284 in Wantage Township when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck several trees and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
Slagle sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Montague, New Jersey, resident Robert Ciervo, 25, has been charged for allegedly participating in a conspiracy to distribute narcotics, which resulted in the death of 36-year-old Westtown resident Richard Beauchesne earlier this year.

In a dramatic movie-style series of raids, a total of 29 people were arrested Tuesday during a drug enforcement action dubbed "Operation Bread, White and Blues."

Two Orange County Sheriff's Officers Die Suddenly
Two Orange County Sheriff's officers died suddenly over the past week.
Officer Alecks S. Elia, 56, of New Windsor, died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and Lt. Frank Maiorino, 47, of Westtown, died on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Orange Regional Medical Center, the department said.
Elia, who worked for the department for just over 11 years, had also served as a U.S. Marine in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Afghanistan. In his free time, he also volunteered with the New Windsor Ambulance Service.
