Video Shows Brazen Smash-Grab Theft At Westport Jewelry Store Security cameras were rolling when two masked thieves ran into a Connecticut jewelry store and smashed their way into glass display cases. The Fairfield County incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in Westport at the Lux, Bond, and Green shop on Main Street. Westport Police said two individuals wearing gloves, masks, and hooded sweatshirts entered the business and began smashing display cases with sledgehammers. The fire occurred in New Canaan on White Shade Oak Lane around 11:40 p.m., Monday, April 8.
