: PA Mom Of Baby Girl Who Died Speaks Out Amid Abusive Murder Case
The mother of a 3-month-old girl who died under suspicious circumstances spoke exclusively to Daily Voice on Wednesday morning, Nov. 27, sharing her perspective on the events leading up to the tragedy and the allegations that followed. In the emotional interview, the infant’s mom denied that her daughter was ever shaken or dropped, contradicting details outlined in the affidavit. "She was fully conscious when in the shower because she cried when she first went in," she said. "It was only a few minutes before I was called, and she was limp with mucus coming from both her nose and mouth. While…

Son Of Bucks Police Detective Placed On Ventilator In Ireland
Matthew Small, the son of a Falls Township police detective, is seriously ill after a holiday visit to his family's native Ireland, loved ones say. The 21-year-old became sick on Dec. 31 during a family Christmas trip, and while it first appeared he had a common cold, he's since been placed on a ventilator. "He had started out with a cold, then it went into pneumonia, and then he contracted Influenza-A," wrote family friend Michele Spadaccino in a GoFundMe campaign set up to assist with medical costs. "He was placed on a ventilator, and days later his kidneys began to fail." Th…

19 And Your Child With Type 1 Diabetes: What You Need to Know
Presently, data shows that children, adolescents and young adults with well-managed endocrine conditions, such as diabetes, are not at increased risk of getting infected or becoming severely ill with the coronavirus. However, poorly controlled diabetes can weaken their immunity and thereby increase the risk of getting infected. There are some indications that otherwise healthy, but severely obese children are at increased risk of a more complicated lung infection due to COVID-19. New data is becoming available each day about the virus, but in the meantime, parents and caregivers of children w…

19: What You Need to Know
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says women who are pregnant should be monitored more closely than the general population since they are known to be at risk of severe viral illness. Pregnant women experience immunologic and physiologic changes which make them more susceptible to complications from viral respiratory infections. If you are pregnant, you should take the following preventative actions: Avoid people who are sick or who have been exposed to the virus. Clean your hands often using soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. C…

Safe Use Of Antibiotics
Antibiotics are medications created almost 100 years ago to fight bacterial infections. They have transformed health care and the treatment of medical conditions. Infectious diseases, such as pneumonia, used to be listed as the most common cause of death in the United States; whereas today, it is ranked number eight. Unfortunately, as antibiotic usage has surged in recent years, many bacteria now have developed “antibiotic resistance” so that antibiotics are no longer effective. Just as Superman is resistant to bullets and other weapons, except for Kryptonite, we have now created “Superbugs” …

Mystery Outbreak: More Than 60 Cases Of Polio-Type Disease Confirmed In 22 States
It starts out with symptoms similar to a common cold, but it could cause paralysis. There have reports of 127 cases of a rare polio-like condition affecting children, the Centers for Disease Control said. So far, 62 cases in 22 states have been confirmed of acute flaccid myelitis or AFM, the CDC said. The average age of those diagnosed is 4 years old. It's unclear what's causing the outbreak, which can develop after a viral infection, environmental toxins, and genetic disorders. AFM affects a person’s nervous system, specifically the spinal cord, causing weakness in one or more limbs. …
